Harry Giles Leaving Duke For 2017 NBA Draft

Mar 28, 2017 2:11 PM

Harry Giles has announced he will declare for the 2017 NBA Draft after one season at Duke.

Giles is expected to be a mid-first round pick. Giles was previously considered a probable top-5 pick in this draft class before suffering a number of injuries.

Giles tore the ACL in his right knee when a high school senior and then underwent left knee surgery in October, which limited his appearances with Duke.

Giles averaged 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes with Duke.

Grayson Allen Doesn't Regret Staying At Duke Despite Drop In Draft Stock

Mar 16, 2017 10:12 PM

Grayson Allen said he doesn't regret returning to Duke for his junior season despite his fallen draft stock.

Allen likely would have been a first round pick in 2016 after averaging 21.6 points with 42 percent shooting on three-pointers. NBA executives project Allen to be a mid-second-round pick if he leaves Duke.

"I knew with the decision I made, once I made it, I was going to live with it," Allen said Thursday prior to the team's first-round NCAA tournament game. "Obviously, I haven't had the season I'd like to have. A lot of things out of my control happened. I didn't know I was going to get injured three games into the year, reinjured later and all stuff happen in the middle.

"For me, I'm making best of the situation. I didn't come back for personal goals, I came back to be in the spot I am right now and trying to make another run for a national championship, and I'm still able to do that. So there's no regrets there."

Allen has dealt with numerous injuries and a suspension for multiple tripping incidents.

Allen has averaged 14.1 points per game this season and shot 36 percent from beyond the arc despite still not being 100 percent after a recent ankle injury.
